Gems & Pages Foundation was established in 2023 to honor the legacy of the women whose love, wisdom, creativity, and strength helped shape our family for generations. Inspired by my grandmother, Betty “Bigma” Jordan, my great-grandmother, Iceola, and my mother-in-law, Almeda, we believe that every person carries a story worth sharing and that creativity has the power to connect people across generations.
Their influence taught us that learning happens in everyday moments, wisdom is often passed through stories and traditions, and creativity can be found in everything from art and writing to craftsmanship, cooking, and acts of service. These values became the foundation of Gems & Pages.
As a family-founded organization, Gems & Pages brings together a love of the arts, education, and lifelong learning. Founded by Carla and David Jordan, Gems & Pages reflects a shared passion for creativity, education, and community engagement. Together, we create opportunities for individuals to explore their talents, share their experiences, and connect with others through meaningful artistic and educational experiences.
Through visual arts, crafts, literature, storytelling, educational initiatives, and community engagement, we seek to inspire creativity, celebrate diverse perspectives, preserve cultural traditions, and strengthen community connections.
The name Gems & Pages reflects our philosophy. Gems represent the unique gifts, talents, strengths, and experiences found within every individual. Pages represent the stories, lessons, and journeys that shape our lives. Together, they remind us that every person has something valuable to contribute and every story has the power to inspire.
